Beautiful spring crochet dress / Step-by-step tutorial

Materials:

• 400-500 yards of worsted weight yarn (I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton)
• Size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers (optional)

Gauge:

14 sc x 10 rows = 4 inches

Finished Size:

6-12 months (adjustable)

Instructions:

Yoke:

1. Chain 78.
2. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn. (77 sc)
3. Ch 2, sc in each sc across. Turn.
4. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the yoke measures 8 inches from the starting chain.

Skirt:

1. A-line shaping: Ch 3, 2 dc in the next sc, dc in each sc across to the last sc, 2 dc in the last sc. Turn. (79 dc)
2. Ch 2, dc in each dc across. Turn.
3. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the skirt measures 8-10 inches (desired length) from the beginning of the skirt shaping.

Sleeves:

1. Make 2 sleeves.
2. Chain 35.
3. Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn. (34 sc)
4. Ch 2, sc in each sc across. Turn.
5. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the sleeve measures 6 inches from the starting chain.
6. Dec row: Sc in the first 2 sc, sc2tog across. Turn. (17 sc)
7. Sc in each sc across, working in the back loops only. Turn.
8. Repeat row 7 until there are 3 sc remaining.
9. Sc2tog, slip stitch the remaining sc together. Tie off.

Finishing:

1. Sew the shoulder seams.
2. Crochet a row of single crochets around the neckline.
3. Sew the sleeves to the armholes.
4. Crochet a row of single crochets around the sleeve cuffs.
5. Optional: Add embellishments such as ribbons, buttons, or flowers.

• You can adjust the size of the dress by adding or subtracting stitches to the yoke and skirt.
