1 Year Old Baby Dress Pattern – with Subtitles

Materials:

  • 3 skeins of DK weight yarn in your chosen color
  • 3.5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers (optional)

Gauge:

  • 18 sts x 10 rows = 4″ in double crochet

Size:

  • Chest: 19″
  • Length: 15″ (adjustable)

Instructions:

1. Yoke:

  1. Chain 72.
  2. Double crochet (dc) in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn.
  3. Chain 2, dc in each dc across. Turn.
  4. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the yoke measures 8″ from the beginning.

2. Body:

  1. Divide the stitches into 3 sections: 24 sts for the front, 24 sts for the back, and 24 sts for the sleeves (72 sts total). Place stitch markers at the beginning and end of each section.
  2. Front: Work in dc in rows back and forth across the 24 front stitches until the desired length is reached (approximately 7″ from the yoke).
  3. Back: Work in dc in rows back and forth across the 24 back stitches until the desired length is reached (approximately 7″ from the yoke).
  4. Sleeves: Work in dc in rows back and forth across the 12 sleeve stitches until the desired length is reached (approximately 6″ from the armhole).
  5. Finishing: Slip stitch all three sections together at the shoulders.

3. Straps:

  1. Chain 40.
  2. Dc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn.
  3. Repeat row 2 until the strap measures approximately 10″.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to make a second strap.
  5. Sew the straps to the top corners of the back bodice.

4. Optional embellishments:

  • Add a row of single crochet around the neckline and armholes.
  • Add buttons or ties to the straps.
  • Embroider a cute design on the front of the dress.
