Beautiful Crocheted Baby Dress | Video tutorial

Materials:

  • 400g of DK weight yarn in your chosen color
  • 4.0mm crochet hook
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Buttons (optional)

Gauge:

  • 20 stitches x 10 rows in double crochet = 4″ x 4″

Pattern:

Yoke:

  1. Chain 80.
  2. Double crochet in the third chain from the hook and in each chain across.
  3. Chain 2, turn.
  4. Double crochet in each stitch across.
  5. Repeat rows 3-4 until the yoke measures 6 inches from the starting chain.

Body:

  1. Divide the stitches into 3 equal sections (approximately 26 stitches each). Place stitch markers at the beginning and end of each section.
  2. Continue working in double crochet, but work the middle section in reverse double crochet (reverse dc). This will create a cute V-neckline.
  3. Work even in double crochet until the body measures 8 inches from the start of the yoke.

Skirt:

  1. Increase round: Chain 2, double crochet in the next stitch, chain 1, double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * around, ending with a double crochet in the last stitch.
  2. Work even in double crochet for 1 round.
  3. Repeat row 1 and 2 until the skirt reaches the desired length.

Finishing:

  1. Slip stitch in the next stitch, chain 1, and turn.
  2. Work single crochet around the neckline and armholes.
  3. Sew on buttons (optional) for the shoulder closures.
  4. Weave in all ends.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the length of the yoke, body, and skirt to fit your baby.
  • You can use different stitch patterns for the body and skirt to create a more unique look.
  • You can add embellishments such as ribbons, flowers, or buttons.
